The Keeper

You look after things and people quietly and steadily. The bills are paid on time and you remembered that your neighbor had an operation last week. A sudden change to your routine, even a pleasant one, takes you a while to accept.

You prefer a calm home and a small group of people you have known for years. You help without fuss and rarely ask for anything in return.

The two variants

Calm variant: lower emotional sensitivity

Daily ups and downs barely ripple your routine, and your steadiness reassures the people around you.

Intense variant: higher emotional sensitivity

You worry about the people you look after, and you check twice that everything is in place for them.

Where this profile shines

Quiet reliability

You keep things working in the background, and people only notice how much you do when you are away.

Practical care

Your kindness takes concrete form: a meal dropped off when someone is ill, or a form filled in correctly for a parent who hates paperwork.

What this profile should watch for

Putting yourself last

You take on chores and favors without saying no, and you may let resentment build rather than ask for help.

The Keeper scores below the median on Openness and Extraversion and above it on Conscientiousness and Agreeableness. In plain words, you prefer what you know, you like small settings to large ones, you do what you said you would, and you give other people's needs real weight. "The Keeper" is our short name for that pattern of four scores relative to the median, not a type found in research; the methodology explains how the line is drawn.

How the four traits combine

Three of these four positions point toward stability: the familiar over the new, a few people over many, a plan over improvisation. The fourth, high Agreeableness, gives that stability a purpose. Your care is organized: you keep the spare key and put the Tuesday phone call in the week so it does not depend on a mood.

Reserved and agreeable together also make you easy to overlook. High Agreeableness pulls you toward giving way, low Extraversion keeps you from announcing what you need, and the order you create hides how much effort it takes. The tension is that the person who maintains everyone else's routine has no routine for being looked after, so your needs are noticed late, when they are noticed at all.

Calm or intense

Neuroticism shapes how heavy the carrying feels. With a low score, you hold a lot without noticing the weight. With a high one, you notice every item on the list and rehearse the ways it could go wrong.

Near the middle

If your Extraversion score is close to the median, you share a lot with The Pillar, who does similar work with a bigger circle and more energy for crowds. If Openness is the close one, The Sage is the neighbor: the same patience and kindness, with more curiosity about unfamiliar subjects.
